Operação combate lavagem de dinheiro no mercado de criptomoedas

A Polícia Federal (PF) e a Receita Federal deflagraram hoje (22) a Operação Colossus para combater organização criminosa dedicada à lavagem de dinheiro. De acordo com a corporação, o grupo utilizava um “intrincado” sistema de remessas de recursos ilícitos ao exterior, por intermédio da compra e venda de criptoativos.

A estimativa da PF é de que mais de R$ 2 bilhões tenham sido movimentados em operações de câmbio suspeitas. “Tais recursos ingressaram e circularam pelo sistema financeiro oficial, mediante empresas de fachada, sem capacidade econômico-financeira, e transitaram por contas de passagem até a sua conversão em criptoativos que poderiam ser utilizados no exterior”.

A 6ª Vara Criminal Federal de São Paulo expediu mandados de busca e apreensão que estão sendo cumpridos no próprio estado de São Paulo e também no Rio de Janeiro, na Bahia e em Santa Catarina. Participam da operação 28 servidores da Receita Federal e cerca de 130 policiais federais.

Os investigados podem ser acusados dos crimes de desvio de fundos, tráfico de drogas, lavagem de dinheiro e crime contra o sistema financeiro nacional.
